CHARLENE LINDSAY, OWNER
Born and raised in Chattanooga, TN, my affection for gatherings large and small is a part of my southern hospitality roots. I have a passion for curating details for celebrations big and small, and I don't ever need a reason to throw a party; any reason is good enough. After years of planning events, including my own wedding, and throwing big birthday parties for my son, I started Shine Event Styling for two reasons. First, bringing people together is important. Whether it’s a big wedding or a small dinner party, I believe life is meant to be shared and celebrated. Second, I love designing beautiful spaces that create a special mood and reflect the guest of honor’s style.
I'm a wife to a pretty dope husband (Adam) who is as calm and cool as they come. I'm lucky enough to be a mom to two amazing kids (AJ and Layla) who inspire me, teach me, and keep me laughing. My family is my world. I'm an auditor by day and a creative by night.
I believe we all have a light to shine. When we gather to celebrate, to make memories, to laugh, to dance, to play, to eat, to listen...we brighten each others' lights and lives. It's why I channel my creativity into event planning and styling, and it's how I find purpose in doing it.
I think we all should celebrate, and I've always made volunteering a part of my life's work. It's also a part of our small business mission. As a board member of Box of Balloons-Roswell, GA, we partner with other businesses and families to help kids in need celebrate their birthdays. I love seeing the smiles on our client's faces, but there's something really special about helping kids you'll never meet have an awesome birthday.
